MPA Alumni and adjunct faculty member at the School of Government & Public Policy, Heath Vescovi-Chiordi, was recently awarded a Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce '40 Under 40' title! Congratulations Heath!
The '40 Under 40' award itself is to recognize outstanding individuals and their contributions, participation, and demonstration of leadership qualities in the region. It recognizes individuals for their accomplishments in their professional and personal lives, as well as their contributions to the community as a whole, whether it be through service on non-profit boards, regional organizations, volunteer efforts, professional development, economic development, youth development, community convening, and more.
Heath graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Spanish, as well as a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis on Local Government from the School of Government & Public Policy. Currently, he is an elected Precinct Committeeman for the City of Tucson in Precinct 62 in Legislative District 3 and serves as the Assistant to the Town Manager in the Manager’s Office for the Town of Marana.
Heath also received the New Member of the Year Award in 2016 and the Member of the Year Award in 2019 from the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED). He is heavily involved in citizen and youth engagement at the Town of Marana, managing the town’s flagship engagement program, the Marana Citizens’ Forum. Heath also designed and implemented a class at the UofA School of Government & Public Policy that focuses on teaching the fundamentals of Economic Development and Local Government Administration to Master of Public Administration students. Lastly, he serves on multiple statewide and regional Boards of Directors, including for the Arizona Association for Economic Development, the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, and the Arizona Town Hall Association.
