Matthew Rash was recently appointed as a city council member in his hometown of Mammoth, AZ! In September 2019, a council member resigned which opened up this great opportunity for Matthew. He submitted a letter of interest, was appointed by the council and sworn in on October 17, 2019. Matthew is one of seven council members in Mammoth, which is a small town of about 1500 residents. Although the council member role is strictly voluntary, it is a great opportunity nonetheless!
Matthew is a second year MPA student with an interest in Local Government, and also serves as the Communications Chair for PASA. Previously, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Studies with a minor in Psychology here at the University of Arizona. He also currently interns for the Pima County Attorney's Office and previously interned at the Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center.
